At Awing Learning, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience on our app. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Awing Learning is designed to be offline-first, meaning you can use the app to learn the Awing language without ever needing to create an account or connect to the internet. All core learning features work without any data collection.
Google Sign-In (Optional): If you choose to sign in with Google, we collect your email address and basic profile information. This is used only to:

If you sign in with Google, your learning progress and settings are stored in Firebase Firestore (Google’s cloud database) to enable:
Firebase Firestore data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is controlled by Firebase security rules that ensure:
Your cloud data persists as long as your account is active. You can delete it yourself at any time, from inside the app, without contacting anyone: Parent Settings > Delete Account > Delete My Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Google’s use of your data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
All pronunciation audio in the app is a recording made by a human Awing speaker and bundled with the app. Nothing is sent anywhere to produce it, and the app no longer uses any text-to-speech service for Awing.
The app uses open-source libraries listed in pubspec.yaml. These libraries do not collect personal data. For more information, consult each library’s privacy documentation.
Awing Learning does NOT:
Awing Learning is designed for children ages 5 and up. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other child safety regulations.
If a child under 13 uses the app with Google Sign-In, we obtain verifiable parental consent through Google’s age-appropriate sign-in flow. Parents can:
You can access your learning progress and settings within the app at any time. If you want a copy of your cloud data, contact samagids@gmail.com.
You can update your profile information and preferences within the app’s Settings screen.
You can delete your account and everything stored for it from inside the app, at any time, without asking anyone:
Parent Settings > Delete Account > Delete My Account
Deleting your account permanently removes:
Recordings you donated. If you have recorded Awing words to help build the app’s audio, the deletion screen asks what should happen to them. If you choose to keep them, the clips stay in the Awing corpus but your name and email address are removed from them. If you choose to delete them, the recordings are deleted too. Either way, nothing identifying you remains.
Deletion is immediate and permanent and cannot be undone. There is no waiting period and no account to reactivate afterwards.
If you have already uninstalled the app and cannot sign in to complete this, write to samagids@gmail.com and we will delete the account for you.
You can disable anonymous analytics at any time via Settings > Feedback > toggle “Share anonymous usage data”.
The app includes a backup/restore feature that lets you export your learning progress. Contact the developer for additional export options.
While we implement best practices, no method of data transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to:
If you use Firebase cloud sync, your data may be transferred, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates data centers. By using Awing Learning, you consent to such transfers. These transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses and Google’s security commitments.
